The 3M 7000133604 is a thin-wall heat shrink tubing in the FP-301 series, supplied in a 24-piece pack of 48-inch lengths in black. FP-301 is a general-purpose polyolefin tubing designed to provide reliable electrical insulation, physical protection, and resistance to common industrial chemicals. Each piece shrinks radially when heated, conforming tightly around conductors, splices, terminals, and wire bundles. With a nominal recovered diameter of 1/2 inch, this tubing suits a broad range of conductor sizes. Electricians, panel builders, and industrial maintenance technicians reach for FP-301 when they need a dependable, code-acceptable insulation solution across both commercial and industrial wiring tasks.
This tubing is used in industrial wiring harness fabrication, military and defense applications, panel wiring, and general electrical assembly work. The thin-wall construction keeps the finished bundle diameter low while still delivering solid dielectric protection. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments where abrasion resistance and moisture protection are needed. The black color aids in UV identification and is a common choice for branch circuit terminations, ground conductor marking, and general wire management in electrical enclosures and conduit work.
Designed as a general-purpose thin-wall heat shrink sleeve suitable for use in industrial electrical assemblies, military wiring applications, and commercial panel work wherever a 1/2-inch recovered-diameter polyolefin tubing is specified.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or trained electrical technicians. De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any conductor or terminal. Apply heat evenly using a heat gun, working from the center outward to prevent air pockets; open flame is not recommended as it can scorch or unevenly shrink the tubing. Follow applicable NEC requirements for insulation rating and conductor sizing when using heat shrink as a terminal or splice covering.
