The 3M 7000133597 is a thin-wall heat shrink tubing from the EPS-300 series, designed for environmental protection and electrical insulation in wire and cable applications. Supplied in 48-inch sticks, this black tubing offers a 3/16-inch nominal diameter and provides a reliable barrier against moisture, abrasion, and contaminants. The EPS-300 construction makes it well-suited for protecting splices, terminations, and conductor bundles in demanding environments. Licensed electricians and instrumentation technicians are the primary installers, though HVAC and low-voltage controls technicians also reach for this product when routing and protecting wire harnesses.
This heat shrink tubing is used across residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever insulation and strain relief are needed. Typical applications include protecting wire splices, bundling conductors, sealing cable ends, and adding a secondary insulation layer over crimped connections. The black coloring is standard for general-purpose wiring work. Each unit is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 12 pieces per case.
Designed as an OEM-style environmental protection and insulation sleeve suitable for general electrical, low-voltage, and instrumentation wire termination and bundling applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits completely before applying heat shrink tubing to any splice or termination. A heat gun set to the appropriate temperature range for thin-wall polyolefin tubing is the standard application tool — open flame is not recommended for thin-wall material. Ensure the tubing is centered over the splice or conductor before applying heat, and allow the tubing to cool fully before restoring power.
