The 3M 7000133574 is a multiple-wall, semi-rigid heat shrink tubing designed for reliable electrical insulation and wire management in demanding trade applications. Built from co-extruded, selectively cross-linked polyolefin, this tubing features a 2.5:1 shrink ratio and an integral meltable inner wall that flows and seals around conductors and connectors when heat is applied. Each stick measures 48 inches in length with a recovered inside diameter of 0.75 inches. Electricians and wire harness technicians use this tubing where a single-wall product will not provide adequate sealing or mechanical protection. The meltable inner layer bonds to the substrate, creating an environmental seal against moisture, dust, and mild chemical exposure.
This tubing is suited for use in electrical, electronics, and industrial wiring applications where a combination of strain relief, insulation, and environmental sealing is required. It is appropriate for both commercial and industrial installations involving wire splices, connector backshells, and cable terminations. The semi-rigid recovered wall provides additional mechanical support compared to flexible single-wall alternatives, making it a practical choice for exposed or high-vibration environments. It is sold in individual 48-inch sticks with a minimum order quantity of 5 pieces per case.
Designed as an OEM-style heat shrink solution for electrical wire splices, connector terminations, and cable backshell applications requiring dual-wall sealing performance.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified wire technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any conductor or termination. Apply even heat from a heat gun working from the center of the tubing outward toward the ends to ensure the inner wall flows uniformly and the outer wall recovers without voids or bubbles. Avoid open-flame torches, which can scorch the outer wall before the inner adhesive layer reaches full melt temperature.
