The 3M 7000133573 is a multiple-wall, semi-rigid heat shrink tubing designed for electrical and wire harness applications where a sealed, strain-relieved termination is required. Manufactured from co-extruded polyolefin with selective cross-linking, it features a 2.5:1 shrink ratio and an integral meltable inner wall that flows during shrink to create a moisture-resistant seal around conductors, splices, or connectors. Each piece is supplied in a 48-inch stick for bench cutting to length. Licensed electricians and wire harness technicians are the primary installers.
This tubing is suited for use in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations where environmental sealing and insulation integrity are priorities. Typical applications include wire splices, connector boots, and cable end terminations in control panels, HVAC systems, and general wiring assemblies. The semi-rigid wall construction offers added mechanical protection compared to standard single-wall tubing. The 48-inch stick length accommodates a range of cut lengths without significant material waste.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use heat shrink tubing for electrical splice and termination applications requiring a 1/2-inch nominal diameter multiple-wall polyolefin sleeve.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified wire harness technicians. De-energize all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any conductor, splice, or termination point. Use a calibrated heat gun to apply even, controlled heat along the length of the tubing — avoid open flame, which can scorch or unevenly shrink the material. Installations in listed electrical enclosures or panels should comply with applicable NEC requirements for insulation and conductor protection.
