The 3M 7000133515 is a thin-wall heat shrink tubing made from flexible polyolefin, supplied in a 48-inch length. It is designed to provide electrical insulation, strain relief, and environmental protection over wire splices, terminals, and cable bundles. The tubing shrinks when heat is applied, conforming tightly to the underlying component. At a 3/4-inch nominal diameter, it suits a wide range of conductor and connector sizes commonly encountered in electrical, HVAC control wiring, and low-voltage applications. Electricians and controls technicians are the primary installers.
This tubing is used in residential and light commercial electrical installations, control panel wiring, and field-repair work where a clean, insulated sleeve is needed over a splice or terminal. The clear finish allows visual inspection of the connection beneath the shrunk tubing without removal. The flexible polyolefin material remains pliable after shrinking, which reduces stress cracking in vibration-prone environments such as HVAC equipment enclosures and motor junction boxes.
Designed as an OEM-style protective sleeving solution for wire splices, terminals, and cable bundles in electrical and low-voltage control wiring applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified controls technicians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before applying the tubing over any splice or terminal. Apply heat evenly using a heat gun, working along the length of the tubing to prevent uneven shrinkage or scorching. Avoid open-flame heat sources, which can damage the tubing and the underlying conductor insulation.
