The 3M 7000132718 is a thick-wall, heat shrinkable cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding environments. Built from flame-retardant polyolefin, this sleeve is rated to 1 kV and carries an MSHA rating for use in mining and hazardous locations. At 48 inches in length, it comes factory-applied with an adhesive sealant that bonds and seals as the sleeve shrinks, providing both mechanical protection and environmental sealing in a single step. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians working on medium-duty wiring assemblies will find this sleeve well suited for field or shop installation.
This cable sleeve is used in industrial, commercial, and mining electrical installations where splice and termination protection is required. The thick-wall construction offers enhanced resistance to splitting and abrasion compared to standard thin-wall tubing. The factory-applied adhesive sealant makes it suitable for applications requiring moisture and environmental ingress protection. It is available in black and sold individually per sleeve.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation thick-wall heat shrink cable sleeve for industrial and mining-rated electrical termination and splice applications rated up to 1 kV.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified industrial maintenance personnel. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working on any splice or termination. Apply heat evenly along the sleeve using a calibrated heat gun, working from the center outward to avoid trapping air pockets under the sleeve. Follow all applicable NEC requirements and site-specific electrical safety procedures when working in hazardous or mining locations.
