The 3M 7000132637 is a 7 mil vinyl electrical color coding tape designed for identifying leads, splices, and terminations in electrical installations. Part of the Scotch 35 series, this half-inch wide tape delivers reliable mechanical and electrical insulation in a compact, easy-to-handle roll. It wraps smoothly around conductors and connections and holds tightly across a wide range of temperatures. Abrasion and weather resistance make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. It carries UL listing and CSA approval, meeting common requirements for commercial and residential electrical work.
This tape is used by licensed electricians and electrical contractors for color coding wire terminations, identifying phase conductors, marking splices, and organizing wiring in panels, junction boxes, conduit runs, and control panels. The 0.5 inch width is well suited for smaller gauge conductors and close-quarter termination work. It is sold in rolls and available in a minimum quantity of 10 rolls per order.
Designed as a general-purpose vinyl electrical color coding tape suitable for use on insulated conductors, splices, and terminations in low-voltage electrical systems where color identification is required.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians following applicable NEC requirements for conductor identification and insulation. De-energize all circuits before applying tape to conductors or terminations. Apply with consistent tension for a smooth, overlapping wrap that ensures full coverage without gaps. Avoid stretching the tape beyond its rated capacity, as over-tensioning can reduce adhesion over time.
