The 3M 7000132635 is a linerless Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) high-voltage splicing tape designed for electrical insulation applications. Sold under the Scotch 130C designation, this tape is highly conformable and self-fusing, making it well suited for building void-free insulation over cable splices and terminations. It provides immediate moisture sealing upon application and offers excellent thermal dissipation to manage splice heat under load. Licensed electricians and cable splicing technicians working on medium- and high-voltage systems are the primary installers. The roll measures 1 inch wide by 10 feet long and weighs 0.23 pounds.
This tape is used in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations wherever high-voltage cable splices require reliable insulation and moisture protection. Its linerless construction eliminates liner waste and allows direct application without a backing strip to remove. The conformable EPR compound follows irregular splice geometries and conductor surfaces, producing tight, void-free buildups that meet industry physical and electrical property specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style insulating tape for use on medium- and high-voltage cable splices and terminations in electrical distribution and power wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or certified cable splicer. De-energize, lock out, and tag out the circuit before beginning any splice work, following applicable NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements. Stretch the tape slightly during wrapping to activate self-fusion and ensure a void-free buildup. Do not energize the splice until the tape has fully fused and the installation has been inspected per applicable code.
