The 3M 7000132583 is a medium-wall, heat-shrinkable cable sleeve designed for wire protection in electrical and low-voltage wiring applications. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin, it delivers flame-retardant performance along with strong resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and chemical exposure. Each sleeve measures 48 inches in length and is sized for 12-6 AWG conductors. A factory-applied thermoplastic adhesive sealant lines the interior, softening during heat application to bond tightly to underlying surfaces and seal small voids. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install these sleeves as part of wire management, termination protection, and environmental sealing work.
This cable sleeve is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where conductors require durable mechanical and environmental protection. The medium-wall construction provides greater flexibility than heavy-wall alternatives, making it appropriate for applications where routing or movement is a factor. The red color allows for quick visual identification in wiring assemblies. Each unit is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 20 pieces per case.
Designed as a medium-wall heat-shrink sleeve replacement for 12-6 AWG conductor protection applications in electrical wiring, termination, and environmental sealing installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the circuit before applying any heat-shrink sleeve to conductors. Apply heat evenly using an approved heat gun, working from the center of the sleeve outward to prevent air pockets and ensure uniform adhesive flow. Follow all applicable NEC requirements for conductor insulation and splice protection in the jurisdiction of installation.
