The 3M 7000132581 is a heat shrinkable cable breakout boot designed to insulate and seal cable breakouts in multiconductor armored or sheathed cables and conduit ends. Manufactured from flame retardant cross-linked polyolefin, the boot meets material requirements of MIL-I-81765-1 and includes an internal adhesive coating that activates during shrinking to create a reliable environmental seal. The 4-way outlet configuration suits installations where a single cable transitions into multiple conductors. Electrical contractors and low-voltage installers rely on this boot to protect cable terminations from moisture, contaminants, and mechanical stress.
This breakout boot is suited for use in commercial and industrial wiring applications where multiconductor armored or sheathed cables and conduit ends require durable, long-term protection. The heat-shrink installation method makes it appropriate for panel wiring, cable tray terminations, and field splices where a clean, sealed breakout is required. It is sold individually, one boot per case.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or field-use boot for multiconductor armored or sheathed cable breakout applications in commercial and industrial electrical installations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before applying the boot. Apply heat evenly using an appropriate heat gun, working from the center outward to activate the internal adhesive and achieve full shrink without scorching the material. Do not use an open flame as the heat source.
