The 3M 7000132579 is a heat shrinkable cable breakout boot designed to insulate and seal cable breakouts in multiconductor armored or sheathed cables and conduit ends. Manufactured from flame retardant, cross-linked polyolefin, this boot meets the material requirements of MIL-I-81765-1. An internal adhesive coating is applied at the factory to provide reliable environmental sealing once the boot is shrunk in place. This is a 3-way outlet configuration finished in black. Electricians and low-voltage installers rely on these boots to deliver consistent electrical and mechanical protection at cable transition points.
This boot is suited for use in industrial, commercial, and utility electrical installations where multiconductor armored or sheathed cables branch into multiple conductors. Common applications include panel terminations, junction enclosures, and conduit end treatments where environmental sealing and insulation integrity are required. The 3-way outlet design accommodates a single incoming cable splitting into three exiting conductors, making it a standard choice for branched cable assemblies in demanding environments.
Designed for use with multiconductor armored or sheathed cables and conduit ends requiring insulated and sealed cable breakout terminations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians following applicable NEC requirements for cable termination and environmental sealing. De-energize and lock out all circuits before fitting the boot over the cable breakout. Apply heat evenly using an appropriate heat gun, working from the center outward to allow the adhesive liner to flow and create a complete environmental seal. Avoid overheating, which can degrade the polyolefin material or compromise the adhesive bond.
