The 3M 7000132527 is a pre-cut mastic tape pad engineered for insulating, padding, and sealing high voltage cables and cable accessories. Each pad measures 3.75 inches by 6.5 inches and is 125 mils thick. The conformable, tacky mastic construction allows it to form tightly over irregular surfaces, delivering excellent moisture resistance and a reliable seal. The material is temperature-rated to 176 degrees F and exhibits superior self-healing characteristics after puncture or cutting, maintaining seal integrity even in demanding field conditions. A release liner is included for clean, controlled application without adhesive contamination during handling.
This mastic tape pad is used by electricians and cable splicers working on high voltage cable joints, terminations, and accessory sealing in both utility and industrial settings. Its conformable nature makes it well suited to irregular or curved cable geometries where rigid tapes cannot achieve consistent contact. The pad format eliminates the need to cut tape from a roll on the job, reducing waste and speeding up installation.
Designed as an OEM-style sealing solution for high voltage cable joints, splices, and accessory terminations where conformable mastic padding and moisture resistance are required.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians familiar with high voltage cable splicing and termination procedures. De-energize and verify the cable circuit is locked out and tagged out per NFPA 70E safe work practices before beginning any cable work. Remove the release liner immediately before applying the pad to the prepared cable surface, pressing firmly to eliminate air pockets and ensure full contact. Follow all applicable NEC requirements and cable manufacturer instructions for insulation build-up and overall termination dimensions.
