The 3M 7000132517 is a heavy-wall, flame-retardant heat shrink cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding environments. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin with a factory-applied internal adhesive and sealant, it delivers both mechanical and environmental protection when properly installed. Each sleeve measures 48 inches in length and shrinks from an expanded inside diameter of 4.8 inches down to 2.1 inches, providing a firm, sealed fit over conductors and connections. The fast-shrink characteristic speeds up installation on the job. This product meets MIL-DTL-23053/15, Class 1 specification. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this type of sleeve.
This cable sleeve is suited for use on high-voltage and low-voltage electrical applications where moisture sealing, mechanical protection, and flame resistance are required. Typical applications include utility splices, industrial terminations, and heavy-duty electrical connections where long-term environmental integrity is critical. Each case contains 5 sleeves, each 48 inches long, sold as a pack of 5. The sleeve is black and non-printed, making it appropriate for both field and panel applications. Select the expanded inside diameter that matches the largest diameter of the connection being covered.
Designed for use on electrical splices, connections, and terminations requiring heavy-wall heat shrink protection with an adhesive lining. Select the size based on the expanded inside diameter needed for your specific conductor or connection assembly.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize and lock out the circuit before applying the sleeve. Use an appropriate heat source such as a propane torch or heat gun, applying heat evenly around the sleeve to ensure uniform shrink and full adhesive flow. Avoid overheating, which can compromise the adhesive seal or damage the sleeve material.
