The 3M 7000132514 is a medium-wall heat shrink cable sleeve designed for insulating, protecting, and rejacketing medium- to large-gauge power conductors ranging from 300 to 500 kcmil. Constructed from split-resistant cross-linked polyolefin, the sleeve delivers reliable mechanical and environmental protection across demanding electrical installations. Each 48-inch length comes factory-coated with a thermoplastic adhesive sealant that softens during heating, bonds to underlying cable surfaces, and fills surface voids to create a sealed, moisture-resistant barrier. Licensed electricians and cable splicers are the primary installers for this product type.
This sleeve is suited for commercial and industrial electrical applications, including bus bar insulation and phase rejacketing on large-conductor systems. The medium-wall construction offers greater flexibility than heavy-wall alternatives, making it practical in tight cable trays or conduit entries where conductor movement or bending is a factor. Each case contains 15 sleeves at 48 inches each, supplying enough material for multi-phase or multi-run projects without repeated ordering. The fast-shrink characteristic reduces installation time compared to slower-activating competitive formats.
Designed for use on conductors in the 300 to 500 kcmil range. Typical applications include bus bar insulation and phase rejacketing in commercial and industrial electrical systems. The 25-foot reel version of this product line is uncoated and does not include the factory-applied sealant.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before applying any heat shrink sleeve to a conductor. Use an appropriate heat gun to activate shrinkage and sealant flow — open flame tools risk uneven shrink and material damage. Allow the sleeve to cool fully before re-energizing or handling the connection.
