The 3M 7000132414 is a heavy-wall, heat-shrinkable cable sleeve engineered for electrical splices, terminations, and connections in demanding environments. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin, this sleeve delivers mechanical and environmental protection at conductor sizes ranging from 600 to 1250 MCM. Each sleeve measures 48 inches in length and comes factory-applied with an internal adhesive and sealant layer that bonds to the cable jacket during shrink, creating a moisture-resistant seal. The flame-retardant material meets MIL-DTL-23053/15, Class 1. Each case contains 10 sleeves. Licensed electricians and utility cable splicers are the primary installers of this product.
This sleeve is suited for medium- and high-voltage cable splicing and termination work in industrial, utility, and commercial electrical installations. The 600-1250 MCM expanded inside diameter range makes it appropriate for large-conductor power distribution cables. The fast-shrink characteristic of the cross-linked polyolefin reduces installation time on job sites where minimizing downtime on energized systems is a priority. It is not printed, making it a clean-appearance solution for finished splice assemblies.
Designed for use with large-conductor electrical cables in the 600 to 1250 MCM range. Select sleeve size based on the expanded inside diameter required for the specific cable assembly.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified cable splicer in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and the cable manufacturer's specifications. De-energize and lock out the circuit before beginning any splice or termination work. Apply uniform heat from a calibrated heat gun, working from the center of the sleeve outward toward each end to ensure even shrink and complete adhesive flow. Do not use an open flame as a heat source, as this may damage the sleeve or compromise the sealant layer.
