The 3M 7000132411 is a heavy-wall, flame-retardant heat shrinkable cable sleeve designed to protect electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding environments. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin, this sleeve delivers mechanical and environmental protection while meeting MIL-DTL-23053/15, Class 1 military specification. Each sleeve measures 48 inches in length and covers a cable range of 2 through 4/0 AWG. A factory-applied adhesive sealant is included as a standard feature, creating a moisture-resistant seal upon shrinking. The fast-shrink design speeds installation time and reduces labor. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors handling high-voltage splices and terminations are the primary installers of this product.
This cable sleeve is suited for use in industrial, utility, and commercial electrical applications where splices and terminations require durable environmental sealing and flame protection. The 48-inch length accommodates longer splice zones typical in medium-voltage cable work and large-conductor installations. Cable range compatibility spans 2 AWG through 4/0 AWG, making it appropriate for service-entrance conductors, feeder cables, and high-ampacity branch circuits. Cases are packaged in quantities of 20 four-foot lengths per case.
Designed for use with cables in the 2 through 4/0 AWG range. Size selection should be based on the expanded inside diameter required for the specific cable or splice assembly being protected.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working on any splice or termination. Apply heat evenly along the sleeve using an appropriate heat gun, working from the center outward to prevent air pockets and ensure full adhesive flow. Follow all applicable NEC requirements for splice protection and insulation integrity.
