The 3M 7000132410 is a heavy-wall, heat-shrinkable cable sleeve designed to protect electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding environments. Manufactured from cross-linked polyolefin with a factory-applied internal adhesive and sealant, this sleeve delivers both mechanical protection and an environmental seal when properly installed. It is flame-retardant and highly split-resistant, making it suitable for use in electrical applications where durability and code compliance matter. Each sleeve measures 48 inches in length and accommodates a cable range of 8 AWG through 1/0 AWG. This product meets MIL-DTL-23053/15, Class 1 specifications.
This cable sleeve is used in commercial and industrial electrical installations for protecting wire splices, joints, and terminations from moisture, abrasion, and mechanical damage. It is appropriate for applications where a reliable environmental seal is required over a broad cable gauge range. The sleeve is supplied in black and is not printed. Each case contains 20 four-foot lengths, making it practical for job-site use where multiple terminations or splices are completed in a single visit. Electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this product.
Designed as an OEM-style heat shrink sleeve for electrical splice and termination protection across the 8 AWG to 1/0 AWG cable range. Select the size equivalent to the expanded inside diameter required for the specific cable being protected.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before applying any sleeve to a splice or termination. Use a calibrated heat gun to apply uniform heat around the sleeve circumference, working from the center outward to avoid trapping air pockets. Do not use an open flame as the heat source, as uncontrolled heat can damage the sleeve or adjacent insulation.
