The 3M 7000132380 is a heavy-wall heat shrink cable sleeve rated for 1 kV service, designed to provide durable insulation, environmental sealing, and mechanical protection on medium-voltage and low-voltage cable terminations and splices. Sized for 2 through 4/0 AWG conductors, it features an expanded inner diameter of 1.10 inches that recovers down to 0.37 inches upon heating. Each sleeve is 48 inches in length, giving installers flexibility to cut to the required length in the field. Licensed electricians and cable splicers typically install these as part of cable joint or termination assemblies.
This sleeve is suited for residential service entrance work, commercial electrical distribution, and industrial cable termination applications where moisture ingress, abrasion, and UV exposure are concerns. The heavy-wall construction provides a thick recovered wall that seals around irregular cable profiles and connector bodies. It is commonly used in conduit, direct-burial, and aerial cable runs where a high level of long-term environmental protection is required. Each box contains 5 pieces.
Designed as an OEM-style heavy-wall heat shrink sleeve for use on 2 through 4/0 AWG conductors in 1 kV-rated cable termination and splicing applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians following NEC requirements for cable termination and splicing. De-energize and lock out the circuit before beginning any cable work. Apply heat evenly using a calibrated heat gun, working from the center of the sleeve outward toward the ends to prevent air entrapment. Do not use an open flame, as uncontrolled heat can cause uneven recovery or damage the sleeve wall.
