The 3M 7000132374 is a heavy-wall heat shrinkable cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding installations. Built from cross-linked polyolefin, this sleeve accepts conductor sizes from 250 to 750 kcmil with an installed inner diameter of 2.00 inches and a recovered inner diameter of 0.65 inches. It ships on a 25 ft reel without factory-applied adhesive or sealant, giving installers flexibility to cut lengths to job requirements. Rated to 1 kV and UL Listed 486D for 600V use, this sleeve is suitable for licensed electricians working on medium and high-ampacity power connections where mechanical and environmental protection is required.
This cable sleeve is intended for use on heavy-gauge power conductors in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems. Its fast-shrink characteristic reduces installation time on job sites where productivity matters. The cross-linked polyolefin construction resists splitting during and after the shrink process, making it appropriate for exposed splice points, cable terminations, and connectors subject to moisture, abrasion, or mechanical stress. Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC requirements for the applicable voltage and conductor size. De-energize and lock out the circuit before applying any sleeve to a splice or termination. Use a calibrated heat gun or torch appropriate for polyolefin materials, applying heat evenly along the sleeve to achieve a uniform shrink without scorching. Do not stretch the sleeve during positioning, as this can compromise the recovered wall thickness and environmental seal.
