The 3M 7000132369 is a heavy-wall, heat-shrinkable cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding installation environments. Manufactured from cross-linked polyolefin, this sleeve delivers mechanical and environmental protection wherever reliable insulation and strain relief are required. It ships on a 25-foot reel with an inner diameter of 0.80 inches before shrink and 0.20 inches after full recovery. The sleeve is rated to 1 kV and carries a UL 486D listing at 600 volts, making it a code-compliant choice for licensed electricians working on medium-gauge conductor terminations and splice work.
This sleeve is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work where 8 AWG through 1/0 AWG conductors require durable insulation and environmental sealing at splice or termination points. The reel format supports high-volume field use, allowing technicians to cut custom lengths as needed. Note that reeled sleeves in this configuration ship without factory-applied adhesive or sealant; where adhesive lining is required, a different product configuration should be specified. Typical applications include panel terminations, cable splices, and connector protection in conduit or open-wiring installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation sleeve for electrical splice, termination, and connection protection on 8 AWG through 1/0 AWG conductors in systems rated up to 1 kV.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before placing or shrinking the sleeve over any conductor or splice. Apply uniform heat using an appropriate heat gun, working from the center of the sleeve outward to prevent air entrapment. Do not use an open flame, as uneven heat can damage the sleeve or underlying insulation.
