The 3M 7000132164 is a heavy-wall, heat shrinkable cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations up to 1 kV. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin, it delivers mechanical and environmental protection at the joint. The sleeve measures 48 inches in length and is cut-to-length ready, with a factory-applied adhesive sealant on the interior wall. It is rated for conductors in the 600 to 1250 kcmil range. The material is highly split resistant and fast shrinking, allowing for rapid installation in the field. Licensed electricians and cable splicers install this sleeve during medium-voltage cable jointing and termination work.
This cable sleeve is suited for residential service entrance work and commercial or industrial electrical installations where conductors up to 1 kV require protected splices or terminations. The 48-inch cut-to-length format accommodates varying joint lengths on large-gauge conductors from 600 to 1250 kcmil. It is appropriate for use indoors or in conduit applications where environmental sealing at the connection point is required. Installers working with large-format feeders and service cables will find this sleeve compatible with standard heat-shrink tooling and heat guns.
Designed for use with conductors in the 600 to 1250 kcmil range on systems rated up to 1 kV. Suitable as an OEM-style heat shrink solution for heavy-wall cable splice and termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for splices and terminations at the applicable voltage rating. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working on any splice or termination. Apply heat evenly along the sleeve using a calibrated heat gun, starting at the center and working outward to prevent air entrapment under the wall. Do not exceed the sleeve material temperature rating during shrink application.
