The 3M 7000132162 is a heavy-wall, heat-shrinkable cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding installations. Built from cross-linked polyolefin with a factory-applied internal adhesive and sealant, this sleeve delivers both mechanical and environmental protection once shrunk in place. It is rated to 1 kV and carries a UL 486D listing for 600V service (File E102356) along with a CSA rating. The sleeve ships in a 12-inch cut-to-length format, allowing technicians to size it precisely to the application. Fast-shrink characteristics reduce installation time on the job.
This cable sleeve is suited for residential and commercial electrical work wherever splice protection, moisture resistance, and strain relief are required. Electricians and low-voltage technicians use it on wire bundles, termination points, and connection joints exposed to environmental stress. The adhesive lining flows when heated to seal against moisture intrusion, making it appropriate for outdoor, underground, or otherwise wet-environment installations. It is a single-piece solution that replaces multi-component tape-and-mastic assemblies.
Designed as a heavy-wall heat-shrink sleeve for electrical splice, connection, and termination protection across residential and commercial wiring applications rated up to 600V.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working on any splice or termination. Apply heat evenly using a heat gun, starting from the center of the sleeve and working outward, to allow the adhesive to flow and seal properly. Do not use an open flame, as uncontrolled heat can damage the sleeve or adjacent conductors.
