The 3M 7000129555 is a flexible prismatic reflective sheeting designed for use on rigid and reboundable traffic control devices. Part of the 3M Series 3300 family, this sheeting delivers high-visibility white and orange markings that meet ASTM D4659 Type III and Type IV standards. It is supplied in an 8-inch wide by 50-yard roll and weighs 12.7 pounds per case. Road crews, traffic control contractors, and work zone safety personnel use this sheeting to mark drums, barricades, and channelizers in active construction and maintenance zones where retro-reflective conspicuity is required by code or contract.
This sheeting is suited for work zone applications on both temporary and semi-permanent traffic control devices. The flexible construction conforms to curved and irregular surfaces commonly found on plastic drums, A-frame barricades, and cone-style channelizers. It installs on clean, smooth, relatively non-porous, weather-resistant surfaces as specified in 3M Information Folder 1.7. It is appropriate for daytime and nighttime use where high-brightness reflectivity is needed to alert drivers to lane changes, closures, and hazard zones.
Designed for use on rigid or reboundable traffic control devices including drums, barricades, and channelizers with clean, smooth, relatively non-porous, weather-resistant surfaces prepared in accordance with 3M Information Folder 1.7.
Surface preparation is critical before applying reflective sheeting — the substrate must be clean, dry, smooth, and free of dust, oil, and loose material. Follow the surface preparation steps outlined in the manufacturer guidance document prior to application. No special trade license is required for installation, but work zone setup must comply with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and applicable state DOT standards. Do not apply to textured, porous, or contaminated surfaces, as adhesion and reflective performance will be compromised.
