The 3M 7000127444 is a clear polycarbonate front-mounted cover plate designed to protect welding helmet lenses from spatter, debris, and arc flash exposure. Measuring 4 inches tall by 5 inches wide and 0.06 inches thick, this cover plate sits in front of the primary filter lens to extend its service life. The polycarbonate construction provides impact resistance while maintaining optical clarity. It carries ANSI Z87.1-2010 and CSA Z94.3 certification, meeting standard requirements for eye and face protection in welding environments. Welders, fabricators, and welding equipment technicians install these cover plates as routine consumables during helmet maintenance.
This cover plate is suited for use in MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-core welding applications where front-mounted cover plate retention systems are in place. The clear, unshaded lens does not alter the shade level of the primary filter and is intended as a sacrificial outer layer. Sold in a package quantity of 10, it supports regular replacement schedules common in production welding shops, fabrication facilities, and field welding operations. Minimum order quantity is 1 unit.
Designed as a front-mounted cover plate replacement for welding helmets that accept a 4-inch by 5-inch front cover plate in the 3M 100 Series lens system. Confirm window dimensions and mount type before installing.
Cover plate replacement is performed by welders or PPE equipment technicians and requires no special tools. Ensure the welding helmet is removed from service and the filter lens assembly is fully seated before replacing the cover plate. Inspect the cover plate retaining frame or lens holder for damage before inserting the new plate. Replace cover plates immediately when cracking, pitting, or heavy spatter accumulation reduces visibility.
