The 3M 7000126449 is a low-profile, clear reclosable fastener tape designed for secure, repeatable closures on low to medium surface energy substrates. Built on a clear polypropylene backing, this Dual Lock fastener uses a low surface energy (LSE) adhesive system on the reverse side to bond to surfaces that standard adhesives struggle to grip. The engaged thickness measures 0.105 inches (2.7mm), keeping assemblies slim. Rated for 100 closure cycles, it suits applications where panels, covers, or components are opened and re-secured on a regular maintenance schedule. HVAC, electrical, and light industrial installers working with smooth or painted surfaces will find this roll practical for interior panel retention.
This fastener is configured as a 3/4-inch-wide, 50-yard roll, making it suitable for cutting to length in the field. It is rated for indoor use with low to medium temperature performance and resists temperatures up to 158 degrees F. The LSE adhesive bonds reliably to metals including aluminum and stainless steel, glass, polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, ABS plastics, and powder-coated painted surfaces. It is not intended for outdoor or high-temperature environments.
Designed for use with metals (aluminum, stainless steel), glass, polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, ABS plastics, powder-coated paints, and medium to low surface energy materials in indoor applications.
Clean and dry the mounting surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive side — contaminants such as oil, dust, or moisture will reduce bond strength. Apply firm, even pressure across the full length of the tape after placement to ensure full adhesive contact. This product is for indoor use only; do not install in environments exceeding 158 degrees F or where moisture or UV exposure is expected. No special tools are required, but surface prep and dwell time after application are critical to achieving rated adhesion.
