The 3M 7000126447 is a low-profile, clear reclosable fastener tape designed for secure, tool-free mechanical attachment in industrial and commercial applications. Built on a clear polypropylene backing, it uses a low surface energy (LSE) adhesive system that bonds to a wide range of substrates without primers in most cases. The engaged thickness is 0.105 inches, keeping the fastened assembly nearly flush. Closure life is rated at 100 open-and-close cycles. The tape is rated for low to medium temperature environments with a maximum temperature resistance of 158 degrees F, making it appropriate for indoor, climate-controlled installations.
This fastener tape is suited for indoor applications where a conventional screw, rivet, or hook-and-loop system would add bulk or require surface penetration. Typical uses include panel attachment, signage mounting, equipment access doors, and component organization on metal frames or enclosures. The LSE adhesive system is formulated to adhere to metals such as aluminum and stainless steel, glass, and many plastics including polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, and ABS, as well as powder-coated painted surfaces and other medium to low surface energy materials. It ships as a single roll measuring 4 inches wide by 50 yards long.
Designed for use with metals (aluminum, stainless steel), glass, many plastics (polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, ABS), powder-coated paints, and medium to low surface energy materials. Intended for indoor use only.
Surface preparation is critical for LSE adhesive systems — clean all bonding surfaces thoroughly and allow them to dry completely before applying the tape. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape width to ensure full contact of the adhesive with the substrate. Do not expose the installed fastener to temperatures exceeding 158 degrees F or use in outdoor or high-humidity environments. Cut tape with a sharp blade or scissors rated for adhesive-backed materials to avoid edge delamination.
