The 3M 7000124243 is a thin-profile hook fastener roll designed for light-duty mechanical attachment in commercial display, textile, and surface-mounting applications. The hook face is white and covered with small, pliable hooks that mesh with loop-side materials including fabrics, carpet, and loop exhibit surfaces. An acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive on the backside allows direct application to clean, flat substrates without additional hardware. At 0.04 inches tall, the hook profile runs approximately 75 percent lower than standard hook-and-loop fasteners, making it well suited for low-clearance or appearance-sensitive installs. The roll measures 8 inches wide by 100 yards long and is sold as a single roll.
This fastener is intended for applications requiring a limited number of open-and-close cycles rather than frequent repeated engagement. Typical uses include trade show and exhibit displays, point-of-purchase fixtures, fabric panel mounting, and light signage attachment. The thin hook geometry mates directly to loop-surfaced materials without requiring a dedicated loop counterpart in many installations, reducing the number of components needed on the job.
Designed for use with loop-surfaced materials including woven fabrics, carpet, and loop exhibit panel systems. Intended for low-cycle mechanical fastening; not recommended as a direct replacement for high-cycle hook-and-loop applications.
Surface preparation is critical for adhesive-backed fasteners — the mounting surface should be clean, dry, and free of oils or dust before application. Press the adhesive side firmly against the substrate and allow adequate dwell time for the acrylic adhesive to reach full bond strength before loading. Cut to length using a sharp utility knife or scissors. No special trade license is required for installation, though exhibit and fixture installers should follow any applicable workplace safety guidelines for adhesive products.
