The 3M 7000124056 is a strapping tape built on a tensilized polypropylene backing with a synthetic rubber resin adhesive. Sold under the 3M 8896 product line in an ivory finish, this tape delivers 160 pounds per inch width tensile strength while still allowing clean removal from a wide variety of surfaces. The combination of a firm polypropylene carrier and aggressive-yet-clean synthetic rubber adhesive makes it suited for bundling, reinforcing, and unitizing applications where residue-free removal is a priority. Each roll measures 48 millimeters wide by 110 meters long.
This tape is used across distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, and light industrial environments. Typical applications include bundling pipe, conduit, or lumber; reinforcing cartons; and securing items during transit or storage. Its clean-removal characteristic makes it useful on finished surfaces or anywhere adhesive residue would cause a problem. Trade professionals in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supply often use strapping tape for staging and bundling materials on the job site or in the shop.
Designed for general-purpose strapping and bundling use on a wide variety of surfaces including metal, wood, plastic, and cardboard.
No tools are required for hand application. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying tape to achieve full adhesive contact. When using for load unitizing or bundling, confirm the tensile requirements of the application do not exceed the rated strength of the tape. Remove tape carefully at a low angle to preserve the clean-removal characteristic on finished or painted surfaces.
