The 3M 7000123920 is a gray, double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape designed for permanent bonding applications in trade and industrial environments. At 25 mil thick, it delivers structural-grade adhesion without mechanical fasteners. The tape bonds high and medium surface energy substrates, including many metals, plastics, and composites. It ships on a roll with a PE film liner for clean, controlled application. HVAC, electrical, and general construction trades use this tape where vibration damping, cushioning, and impact resistance are needed alongside a strong, lasting bond.
This tape is suited for both interior and exterior applications where plasticizer migration from PVC or rubber substrates could compromise other adhesives. Typical use cases include panel bonding, sign mounting, gasket replacement, trim attachment, and equipment assembly. It performs well in environments subject to mechanical stress or repeated vibration cycles. The gray color blends with metal surfaces common in HVAC cabinetry, electrical enclosures, and structural assemblies.
Designed for bonding high and medium surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and rigid plastics in trade and industrial assembly applications.
Surface preparation is critical — clean bonding surfaces with an appropriate solvent to remove oil, dust, and contaminants before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the full bond area to activate the pressure-sensitive adhesive. Allow adequate dwell time before applying load to the bond. Installation should follow applicable industry guidelines for structural tape bonding; consult the manufacturer technical data sheet for temperature range and application conditions.
