The 3M 7000123473 is a 5.0 mil acrylic adhesive transfer tape designed for surface bonding applications across a wide range of substrates, including low-surface-energy (LSE) plastics, foam, and textured or rough surfaces. Supplied on a 60 Densified Kraft liner, this tape measures 48 inches wide and 180 yards long, making it well suited for high-volume converting and die-cutting operations. The acrylic adhesive delivers very high initial tack and maintains bond integrity under demanding environmental conditions, including exposure to humidity, water, solvents, chemicals, and UV light. It is the thicker counterpart to the 3M 9471 transfer tape.
This tape is used in general-purpose surface bonding where a permanent, clean transfer adhesive is required. Typical applications include laminating, assembly bonding, and mounting operations in manufacturing and fabrication environments. Its resistance to temperatures up to 250 degrees F (121 degrees C) makes it suitable for components that see elevated heat during service or processing. The 60 DK liner supports clean, consistent die-cutting and automated dispensing in production settings.
Designed for general-purpose transfer bonding to a wide variety of substrates, including LSE plastics, foam, and textured surfaces; serves as the thicker alternative to the 3M 9471 adhesive transfer tape.
Application is typically performed by fabricators, converters, or assembly technicians using standard tape application or laminating equipment. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, or loose particles before tape is applied. For die-cutting operations, the 60 DK liner provides consistent release; follow equipment manufacturer guidelines for blade pressure and die clearance. Do not stretch the tape during application, as this may reduce long-term bond strength.
