The 3M 7000123449 is a 5.0 mil acrylic adhesive transfer tape designed for high-tack, thin-bond applications across a wide range of materials. It features a 300 high strength acrylic adhesive carried on a 3.5 mil, 60 lb densified kraft paper liner. The tape measures 1.5 inches wide and runs 60 yards per roll. It is well-suited for bonding both high surface energy (HSE) and low surface energy (LSE) substrates, making it a reliable choice for fabricators, sign makers, and industrial assembly technicians who need aggressive initial adhesion in a clean, film-free bond line.
This tape is used as a general-purpose transfer tape in applications requiring an aggressive adhesive with strong initial tack. Typical uses include splicing films, foils, and fabrics, as well as laminating foams, photos, metal nameplates, and plastic nameplates. It performs well on similar and dissimilar materials, making it appropriate for both light fabrication and production-line assembly environments. It is a thicker alternative to the 3M 927 tape for applications where added adhesive mass is needed.
Designed for bonding and laminating a wide variety of similar and dissimilar materials including films, foils, fabrics, foams, photos, and metal or plastic nameplates where an aggressive acrylic transfer adhesive is required.
Application is typically performed by fabricators or assembly technicians using a roller or squeegee to ensure full contact and eliminate air pockets. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of oils or contaminants before application for best adhesion. Remove the liner carefully during application to avoid stretching the adhesive film. Once bonded, the transfer tape is not intended to be repositioned.
