The 3M 7000123385 is an adhesive transfer tape built around 3M High Performance Acrylic Adhesive 350, designed for demanding bonding applications in industrial, manufacturing, and assembly environments. The tape is 5.0 mils thick and delivers strong adhesion to both high and low surface energy substrates, including powder coated paints. Mounted on a tan 58 lb. PCK polycoated kraft paper liner, it resists moisture and minimizes wrinkling during handling and application. The adhesive is fiber reinforced for roll stability in narrow widths and is rated for short-term temperature exposure up to 450 degrees F and long-term use up to 300 degrees F. Licensed trades and assembly technicians working with bonded assemblies will find it reliable across a wide range of surface types.
This transfer tape is well suited for bonding dissimilar materials, including combinations of high and low surface energy substrates such as plastics, metals, and powder coated surfaces. It also performs on rougher surfaces where standard tapes may not achieve adequate contact. Typical applications include industrial assembly, nameplate attachment, membrane switch bonding, and general fabrication tasks where a clean, carrier-free adhesive layer is required. The 0.75 inch width and 60 yard length per roll make it practical for both production line use and field applications.
Designed as a carrier-free adhesive transfer tape suitable for bonding high and low surface energy materials, including plastics, metals, and powder coated surfaces, as well as substrates with moderately rough surface profiles.
Surface preparation is critical before applying transfer tape — clean all bonding surfaces to remove oil, dust, and loose particles. Apply firm, even pressure across the bond line after placement to ensure full adhesive contact. Remove the liner cleanly and avoid stretching the adhesive layer during application. Consult the applicable workplace safety guidelines when working in confined areas, even with low-odor adhesive products.
