The 3M 7000123358 is a 467MP adhesive transfer tape designed for bonding metal and high surface energy (HSE) plastics in industrial assembly and fabrication applications. The tape carries a 2 mil 200MP acrylic adhesive layer that delivers strong shear strength to resist slippage and edge lifting under mechanical stress. A 4.2 mil PCK layflat liner controls dimensional stability during storage, processing, and shipping by virtually eliminating curling, buckling, and rippling. The adhesive is temporarily repositionable, allowing precise placement before final commitment. It performs reliably after exposure to humidity, solvents, and thermal cycling across hot and cold temperature ranges. Licensed HVAC, electrical, and general industrial technicians use this tape for graphic attachment, panel bonding, and component joining tasks.
This tape is suited for general industrial joining, graphic attachment, and label bonding on metal surfaces and HSE plastics. The 0.5 inch width and 60 yard roll length make it practical for continuous production runs or repetitive assembly work. The PCK layflat liner format is especially useful in high-humidity environments such as commercial HVAC shops, fabrication facilities, and warehouse assembly lines where liner curl can disrupt automated or hand-application processes.
Designed as an OEM-style adhesive transfer solution for bonding metal and high surface energy plastic substrates in general industrial and graphic attachment applications.
Surface preparation is critical before application — clean the bonding surface of oils, dust, and loose particles to ensure full adhesive contact. Apply firm, even pressure across the tape length to achieve full wet-out of the adhesive layer. Because the adhesive is temporarily repositionable, final positioning should be confirmed before applying bonding pressure. Remove the liner cleanly in a consistent direction to avoid stretching or distorting the adhesive film.
