The 3M 7000123344 is a white, double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape sold in a 0.75-inch by 72-yard roll at 25 mil thick. Known in the trade as VHB Tape 4930, this firm foam tape features a paper liner and bonds strongly to high surface energy substrates. It delivers handling convenience during assembly while providing cushioning, vibration damping, and impact resistance in the finished joint. UL listed under 746C. Electricians, HVAC installers, and general construction trades use it wherever a solvent-free, mechanical-fastener-free bond is required on metal, glass, or painted surfaces.
VHB Tape 4930 is suited for interior and exterior applications where a conformable, durable bond is needed on rigid, high surface energy materials. Typical install scenarios include panel bonding, nameplate attachment, gasket mounting, and surface sealing in both residential and light commercial construction and manufacturing environments. The closed-cell foam core also provides a degree of weatherseal and vibration isolation between bonded surfaces.
Designed for bonding to high surface energy substrates; best performance is achieved on clean, dry metal, glass, and painted or coated surfaces typical in construction, HVAC, and light industrial assembly applications.
Surface preparation is critical — clean bonding surfaces thoroughly and allow them to dry completely before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape surface to activate the pressure-sensitive adhesive and maximize contact. Allow adequate dwell time before applying load to the bond. Consult applicable building or mechanical codes when using adhesive tapes as a structural or weathersealing element in regulated assemblies.
