The 3M 7000123329 is an adhesive transfer tape designed for bonding applications where a low-profile, high-initial-tack adhesive is required. Marketed under the Scotch ATG 976 line, this tape carries an aggressive acrylic adhesive on a liner that feeds directly into Scotch ATG applicators — no backing remains on the finished bond. At 0.5 inches wide and reverse-wound on a 1-inch diameter core, it lays flat without visible edge buildup. It delivers strong chemical and moisture resistance and medium-high UV resistance, making it suitable for demanding bonding environments. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators working with graphics, signage, foam assembly, and plastics will find this tape a reliable fastening solution.
This tape is intended for bonding materials with glossy or coated surfaces where conventional adhesives lose tack. It bonds on contact to a wide range of substrates, including foams and rigid plastics such as ABS, acrylic, polypropylene, and polyethylene — including surfaces that are considered difficult to adhere to. Typical applications include light fabrication, display assembly, signage mounting, and any workflow where staples, liquid adhesives, or glue guns are impractical or leave an unacceptable profile.
Designed for use in Scotch ATG applicators that accept 1-inch diameter core rolls. Compatible with a broad range of substrates including foams, rigid plastics, and glossy or coated surfaces.
Load the roll into a compatible Scotch ATG applicator before use. Ensure bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust or oils prior to application — surface contamination is the most common cause of adhesion failure. Apply firm, even pressure across the bond line immediately after placement to activate full contact tack. No solvent-based primers or heat tools are required for standard substrate applications.
