The 3M 7000123325 is a 5.0 mil acrylic adhesive transfer tape designed for bonding to a wide range of surfaces, including low-surface-energy (LSE) plastics and textured or rough substrates. It ships on a 60 Densified Kraft liner, which supports clean, accurate die-cutting in fabrication workflows. The tape measures 24 inches wide by 180 yards long per roll, making it well suited for high-volume surface bonding operations. It handles temperatures up to 250 degrees F and resists humidity, water, solvents, chemicals, and UV exposure. HVAC, electrical, and general industrial technicians use this tape where a durable, repositioning-free bond is required.
This transfer tape is intended for general-purpose surface bonding across residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. Typical uses include laminating films, attaching nameplates, bonding foam gaskets, and affixing trim components to painted, powder-coated, or plastic surfaces. The 5.0 mil acrylic adhesive provides very high initial tack, meaning parts seat on first contact with minimal clamping time. It is the thicker-film counterpart to the 3M Adhesive Transfer Tape 9471, offering greater adhesive mass for more demanding bonding scenarios on irregular or porous surfaces.
Designed for general-purpose adhesive transfer bonding applications; compatible with a wide variety of substrates including LSE plastics, foam, painted metals, and textured surfaces where a permanent acrylic bond is required.
Surface preparation is critical before applying transfer tape — clean substrates should be free of dust, oil, and moisture for full adhesive contact. Apply firm pressure across the entire bond area immediately after placement to maximize initial adhesion. When die-cutting, use sharp tooling suited for the 60 Densified Kraft liner to prevent adhesive ooze or liner delamination. Remove the liner cleanly and avoid stretching the adhesive film during application.
