The 3M 7000123315 is a 5.0 mil adhesive transfer tape built around a 300 high strength acrylic adhesive carried on a 3.5 mil, 60 lb densified kraft paper liner. This tape delivers high initial tack and aggressive adhesion across a broad range of substrates, making it a reliable solution for bonding, laminating, and splicing tasks in light industrial, assembly, and specialty fabrication work. The transparent profile keeps finished assemblies clean. Licensed tradespeople and production technicians in HVAC panel assembly, electrical enclosure labeling, and general manufacturing use this tape where a thin, high-bond transfer adhesive is required.
This transfer tape is designed for general purpose thin bonding applications on both high surface energy (HSE) materials such as metals and glass and low surface energy (LSE) materials such as certain plastics. Typical uses include splicing films, foils, and fabrics, as well as laminating foams, photos, fabrics, and metal or plastic nameplates. The 0.37 inch width and 60 yard roll length suit continuous-run and repetitive bonding work. It is a thicker-construction alternative to the 927 product in the same line.
Designed for use on a wide variety of similar and dissimilar materials where a high-tack, thin adhesive transfer bond is required, including metals, plastics, foils, fabrics, and foams.
Surface preparation is critical before application — clean and dry the substrate to remove oils, dust, and contaminants for maximum adhesion. Apply firm, even pressure across the bond line to ensure full contact transfer. Remove the liner carefully and avoid stretching the adhesive web during application. No tools or special equipment are required for hand application, though a roller or squeegee improves bond consistency on flat surfaces.
