The 3M 7000123305 is a 5.0 mil adhesive transfer tape designed for general-purpose bonding across a wide range of materials. It features a 300 high-strength acrylic adhesive carried on a 3.5 mil, 60 lb densified kraft paper liner. The tape delivers aggressive initial adhesion and is suited for both high surface energy (HSE) and low surface energy (LSE) substrates. Each roll measures 3 inches wide by 60 yards long. This product is UL approved and meets US government specification MIL-P-19834B, Amendment 1. Installation is typically performed by fabricators, sign makers, and assembly technicians working with bonding, splicing, or laminating applications.
This tape is used as a general-purpose transfer tape where a thin, high-tack adhesive layer is required. It is well suited for splicing film, foils, and fabrics, as well as laminating foams, photos, fabrics, and metal or plastic nameplates. It performs reliably across similar and dissimilar material combinations. The tape offers good UV resistance and good chemical resistance, making it appropriate for applications that may encounter environmental exposure. It is a thicker-format alternative to the 3M 927 tape where additional adhesive build is needed.
Designed for bonding a wide variety of similar and dissimilar materials including films, foils, fabrics, foams, photos, and metal or plastic nameplates where a high-tack, thin adhesive transfer is required.
Surface preparation is critical for adhesive transfer tapes — clean, dry, and dust-free substrates will produce the strongest bond. Apply firm, even pressure across the tape after positioning to ensure full contact adhesion. No tools beyond standard applicators or squeegees are typically required. Allow adequate dwell time per the application requirements before subjecting the bond to stress.
