The 3M 7000122066 is a non-woven nylon abrasive disc designed for light deburring, surface cleaning, and final finishing on metal workpieces. Built on a high-strength open-web nylon construction, the disc resists tearing, fraying, and folding under pressure, making it reliable for edgework and irregular surface profiles. It uses Aluminum Oxide mineral, which cuts sharply and produces a consistent scratch pattern across ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 5-inch diameter with a 1/2-inch arbor hole fits standard angle grinders and disc pads used in fabrication and maintenance environments. Licensed contractors, fabricators, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this product.
This disc is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous metal applications where a clean, smear-free surface finish is required. Typical use cases include weld prep, light burr removal, and pre-finishing work in sheet metal fabrication, structural steel work, and general metal maintenance. The dense yet flexible open-web structure conforms to contoured and irregular surfaces without loading up with debris, extending service life compared to conventional abrasive discs. It is available in three grades: Coarse (CRS, green), Medium (MED, blue), and Very Fine (VFN, maroon) to match varying levels of aggressiveness and finish requirements.
