The 3M 7000121943 is a non-woven surface conditioning belt designed for one-step workpiece preparation ahead of final finishes and coatings. Built on FE material with an aluminum oxide abrasive, it delivers high initial cut rate and extended cut rate over the life of the belt. At 24 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, it suits narrow-contact finishing applications where consistent stock removal matters. Fabricators, metalworkers, and finishing technicians install this belt on narrow belt grinders and file belt machines to prepare ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys for coating or inspection.
This belt is well-suited to edgework applications including deburring and blending on flat and contoured workpieces. The open web construction responds to surface irregularities, which reduces the risk of gouging the part surface. FE material is selected specifically for operations requiring high contact pressure and controlled stock removal on ferrous materials. It also handles low-stretch applications where belt dimensional stability is needed throughout the finishing run.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement belt for narrow belt grinders and file belt machines accepting a 24 inch by 1/2 inch non-woven abrasive belt.
Install and replace abrasive belts with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify the belt tracking and tension according to the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling abrasive belts and during grinding operations.
