The 3M 7000121885 is a silicon carbide unitized abrasive wheel from the Standard Abrasives 500 Series, designed for light-pressure blending, finishing, and polishing on metallic and composite surfaces. At 2 inches in diameter, this non-woven wheel features a soft, conformable density that allows it to conform closely to flat and contoured workpiece geometries. It is well suited for applications where strict dimensional tolerances must be maintained, giving finishing technicians the control needed to achieve consistent, fine-finish results without aggressive material removal.
This wheel is used in metal fabrication, aerospace, and general industrial finishing environments where precision surface work is required. It is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including exotic alloys and titanium, as well as composite materials. Typical applications include deburring, light blending, and pre-polish finishing on machined or fabricated components. The wheel attaches to a tool spindle using a unitized wheel mandrel, which is sold separately.
