The 3M 7000121307 is the Base (Part B) component of the Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive 2216 two-part flexible epoxy system, supplied in a 5-gallon pour spout container. This room-temperature-curing adhesive uses a 1:1 mix ratio with Part A and delivers a 120-minute work life, giving technicians adequate open time for complex assemblies. Handling strength is reached in approximately 10 hours without requiring heat or specialized cure equipment. The cured bond is flexible, translucent, and engineered for high performance in both shear and peel loading conditions. Industrial assemblers, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working with multi-material assemblies rely on this system for durable, resilient bonds.
This adhesive is suited for bonding rubber, metal, wood, most plastics, and masonry substrates across a wide range of industrial and manufacturing applications. It is commonly used where flexibility and peel resistance are required alongside moderate bond strength — including gasketing, panel bonding, and assemblies exposed to vibration or thermal cycling. The translucent cure color makes it well suited for applications where adhesive visibility at the bondline is a concern. This Part B component must be paired with its corresponding Part A to form the complete adhesive system.
Designed as the Base (Part B) component for use exclusively with the corresponding Part A of the Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive 2216 B/A two-part epoxy system. Part B must not be used as a standalone adhesive.
Mixing and application of two-part epoxy adhesives should be performed by technicians familiar with adhesive bonding processes and proper surface preparation. Power down or de-energize any equipment being repaired before applying adhesive to bonded joints in electromechanical assemblies. Ensure substrate surfaces are clean, dry, and free of oils or contaminants prior to bonding. Follow the manufacturer's mix ratio and pot life guidelines strictly — off-ratio mixing will compromise cure and bond integrity.
