The 3M 7000121207 is a light yellow neoprene-based high performance contact adhesive — sold under the Scotch-Weld 1357 formulation — designed for trade and industrial bonding applications where long bonding range and strong initial grab are required. This solvent-based contact adhesive is applied to both surfaces, allowed to flash off, and then mated for an immediate, durable bond. It is used by contractors, fabricators, and maintenance professionals working across a wide range of substrates. The unit weighs 7.77 pounds and is sold individually.
This adhesive is suited for bonding most rubber, cloth, metal, wood, foamed glass, paper honeycomb, and decorative plastic laminates, as well as many other porous and semi-porous substrates. It is a practical choice for construction, HVAC duct liner installation, panel fabrication, and general maintenance repair scenarios where a reliable contact bond on dissimilar materials is needed. It meets the requirements of specification MMM-A-121, making it appropriate for government and commercial contract work that references that standard.
Designed for use on most rubber, cloth, metal, wood, foamed glass, paper honeycomb, decorative plastic laminates, and similar substrates where a neoprene contact adhesive bond is appropriate.
Apply adhesive to both surfaces and allow adequate flash-off time before joining — consult the product technical data sheet for surface preparation and flash time guidance specific to the substrate. Work in a well-ventilated area and follow all applicable safety regulations for solvent-based adhesives. Use appropriate personal protective equipment including gloves and respiratory protection. Once the bonded surfaces are mated, reactivation by heat or solvents may be required for disassembly.
