The 3M 7000121041 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail finishing work on metal surfaces. Built on a reinforced nonwoven open-web construction with an aluminum oxide abrasive and resin bond over a scrim backing, this belt handles blending, deburring, contour finishing, flat finishing, and stainless steel brushed-finish work. The open-web structure reduces loading and heat buildup, allowing extended run times while delivering consistent results. It is installed by metal fabricators, maintenance techs, and robotic processing operators working on production or job-shop finishing lines.
This belt is suited for both manual and automated applications where conformability to complex part geometries is required. It performs well on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals where the goal is setting a grain, removing grind lines, blending weld areas, cleaning mill scale, or achieving a straightline brushed finish. Its flexibility makes it effective over contours and edges where rigid abrasives would leave uneven results.
Designed for use on belt finishing machines and robotic finishing systems that accept 60-inch by 37-inch surface conditioning belts. Suitable for use on stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and other metal substrates requiring blending, deburring, or fine finishing.
Installed by metal fabricators or finishing equipment operators on compatible belt finishing or robotic processing machines. Confirm belt tracking alignment and machine speed rating before mounting. Power down and de-energize the finishing machine before changing belts. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use and do not exceed the rated operating speed for the belt.
