The 3M 7000121035 is a non-woven surface conditioning belt designed for wide-belt grinding and finishing applications in metal fabrication and industrial maintenance environments. Built on a durable cloth and polyester scrim backing, it is engineered for low-stretch performance, keeping the belt tracking true under load. At 60 inches long and 9 inches wide, it is sized for large stationary belt machines. The open-web non-woven nylon construction resists loading, extends abrasive service life, and finishes surfaces without altering workpiece geometry. The aluminum oxide (AO) mineral is bonded with resin for consistent cut and finish performance.
This belt is suited for finishing and surface conditioning passes on stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and other metal substrates in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and manufacturing environments. It is positioned in the mid-range of the Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt line, offering a balance of durability and flexibility. It works effectively in multi-step sequences where cutting aggressively without marring the substrate is the goal. Licensed tradespeople and skilled fabricators in metalworking trades are the typical installers and operators.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit belt for stationary wide-belt finishing machines accepting a 60-inch by 9-inch non-woven abrasive belt.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by qualified machine operators following the equipment manufacturer's instructions. Power down and lock out the machine before changing belts. Verify belt tracking alignment before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or separation before each use and do not operate a damaged belt.
