The 3M 7000121005 is the Scotch-Brite HS-DC High Strength non-woven abrasive disc, a general-purpose finishing and surface-prep disc built for metal fabrication and maintenance work. Constructed with a durable open-web aluminum oxide material, the disc is engineered to clean, deburr, denib, defuzz, and produce consistent satin finishes on a wide variety of metal substrates. The open-web construction resists loading and dissipates heat, which keeps the abrasive cutting at a steady rate from first use through the full life of the disc. At 6 inches in diameter with a 1/2-inch arbor, it mounts to standard disc grinders and finishing tools used by fabricators and maintenance technicians.
This disc is suited for light to heavy-duty surface preparation tasks in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial production environments. Typical applications include deburring cut edges, cleaning weld zones, removing surface scale, and achieving uniform satin or brushed finishes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The conformable disc body follows contours and wear-resistant edges help maintain consistent finish quality across the work surface. Discs can be stacked to increase cut aggressiveness or to cover larger surface areas in a single pass, adding versatility for high-volume finishing operations.
Designed for use on standard disc grinders and finishing machines accepting a 6-inch diameter disc with a 1/2-inch arbor. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces in fabrication and maintenance applications.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by qualified personnel with the tool unplugged or the power source de-energized. Confirm the tool spindle speed rating meets or exceeds the disc maximum RPM before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows tears, delamination, or uneven wear. Follow applicable ANSI and OSHA standards for abrasive wheel mounting and personal protective equipment, including eye and face protection.
