The 3M 7000120993 is a Roloc TSM quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing work on metal and other substrates. Built with a non-woven aluminum oxide construction in a medium grade, this disc delivers consistent cut and finish across a range of surface prep tasks. The Type S attaching system allows for fast, one-motion disc changes on compatible quick-change tools, reducing downtime during production or field work. It measures 3 inches in diameter and is rated for a maximum operating speed of 18,000 RPM. The disc is identifiable by its maroon color and silver button. Weighing 0.2 pounds, it is a single-pack unit suited for spot work and controlled finishing applications.
This disc is used in metal fabrication, maintenance, and repair environments where controlled surface blending or light material removal is required. The non-woven aluminum oxide construction is well suited for deburring, cleaning weld areas, and preparing metal surfaces before coating or inspection. It is commonly installed on pneumatic or electric right-angle die grinders equipped with a Type S Roloc TSM mandrel. Residential and commercial HVAC, plumbing, and fabrication technicians use this type of disc for pipe end prep, fitting cleanup, and general surface conditioning tasks.
Designed for use with Type S Roloc TSM quick-change mandrels and compatible right-angle die grinders and finishing tools that accept 3-inch Type S abrasive discs.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the tool disconnected from its air or power source. Verify the tool mandrel is rated for Type S discs and that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 18,000 RPM maximum disc rating before operation. Do not exceed the rated RPM, use the disc on the face, or apply excessive lateral pressure. This type of abrasive accessory is typically handled by machinists, fabricators, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians performing surface preparation work.
