The 3M 7000120986 is a Scotch-Brite High Strength non-woven abrasive disc built for general-purpose surface preparation on metal. The disc uses an aluminum oxide (AO) mineral bonded into a durable open-web construction that resists loading and runs cool, keeping the abrasive cutting at a consistent rate from first use to last. At 6 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch arbor hole, it mounts directly to compatible rotary tools and angle grinders. Medium grade makes it a practical choice for deburring, cleaning, denibing, defuzzing, and achieving satin or brushed finishes on a wide range of metals.
This disc is used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and light manufacturing environments where consistent surface finishing is required. It is well suited for work on ferrous and non-ferrous metals including steel and aluminum. The conformable disc construction follows workpiece contours, making it useful for curved or irregular surfaces as well as flat stock. Discs can be stacked on the arbor to cover larger surface areas or increase cut aggressiveness, a useful option when working broader surfaces in a single pass.
Designed for use with rotary tools, angle grinders, and arbor-mount finishing equipment that accept a 6 inch disc with a 1/2 inch arbor. Suitable for general surface preparation on a wide variety of metals.
Mounting and operation should be performed by personnel familiar with rotary abrasive tooling safety practices. Ensure the tool spindle is fully stopped and power is disconnected before mounting or removing the disc. Confirm the tool is rated for the disc diameter and operating speed before use. Always follow the tool and abrasive manufacturer guidelines for maximum operating RPM and appropriate personal protective equipment.
