The 3M 7000120934 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail finishing work on metal surfaces. Built on a nonwoven open web construction with an aluminum oxide abrasive and resin bond, it handles blending, deburring, cleaning, contour finishing, and straightline-brushed finish applications. The belt measures 11 5/8 inches in length and 5 3/8 inches in width, making it suited for standard belt finishing equipment. The open web structure reduces loading and heat buildup, allowing longer run times without sacrificing consistent surface conditioning results. Metal fabricators, welders, and finishing technicians are the primary users of this belt.
This belt is used in both manual and robotic processing environments where consistent surface quality on metal parts is required. Typical applications include blending weld seams, removing grind lines and mill marks, deburring cut or machined edges, fine finishing stainless steel, and setting directional grain finishes. The reinforced backing and conformable nonwoven material allow the belt to maintain abrasive contact on complex contours and irregular part geometries, making it appropriate for both flat and contoured workpieces in fabrication and finishing shops.
Designed for use on standard belt finishing and surface conditioning equipment accepting 11 5/8 inch by 5 3/8 inch belts. Suitable for use on a variety of metals including stainless steel and other fabricated metal workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the equipment manufacturer's belt-change procedures. Confirm the machine is fully powered down and de-energized before removing or installing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the grinder or finishing machine specifications before resuming operation. Do not exceed the belt's rated operating speed.
