The 3M 7000120808 is a convolute deburring wheel designed for edge finishing, light deburring, and surface conditioning on metal workpieces. It uses silicon carbide abrasive in a soft, density 2 construction, which allows the wheel to conform to part contours while removing burrs and smoothing edges without aggressive stock removal. Rated to 4,500 RPM, this wheel is suited for inline sanders and manual backstand grinders found in fabrication shops and production environments. Licensed machinists, tool and die workers, and metal finishing technicians are the primary installers and users of this product.
This wheel fits typical deburring and finishing operations in light to medium metalworking applications. The convolute construction layers abrasive-impregnated nonwoven material around a fiber core, delivering consistent cut throughout the wheel life as the wheel wears. It is appropriate for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a fine finish is required after machining, stamping, or fabrication. Compatible tooling includes inline sanders and manual backstand grinders as specified by 3M for this product.
Compatible with inline sanders and manual backstand grinders as specified in the product data. Verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 4,500 RPM maximum rating before mounting.
Mounting and operation of abrasive wheels should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and confirm the machine speed does not exceed the 4,500 RPM rating marked on the wheel. Use the correct arbor flanges and hardware specified for the machine to ensure secure, centered mounting.
